Carolyn Jones
Carolyn Jones is fascinated by textiles of all kinds, from the mundane to the extraordinary. She works in a wide variety of natural fibers, often combining many colors with complex handweave structures. She works on several different floor looms, of up to 24 shafts, and never weaves the same combination of color and pattern twice.
Most of Carolyn’s work is functional, including scarves, shawls, runners and towels. She uses her leftover odds and ends to make inlaid wall hangings. Handwoven samples and selvages are turned into book cloth used in hand-bound books.
Studio visits are welcomed, by appointment. Feel free to contact her at [email protected]
