Erica was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia. She began making art at a very young age. Erica loved to draw birds and flowers. During High School, her talent was acknowledged and Erica was awarded scholarships to take some classes at Moore College of Art, a women's art school in Philadelphia. Erica loved creating art and decided to major in fine art in college. After obtaining her Bachelor of Fine Arts, she moved to Williamsburg, a neighborhood in the borough of Brooklyn. City life was frantic and exciting, so after a few hectic years, Erica was ready for a change.
Erica decided to move to rural Humboldt county, where she knew she would have the free time and the lack of distractions that would enable her to focus on her artwork. Erica was fortunate enough to study oil painting with Michael Hayes, a very talented Eureka artist. Michael mentored her in the art of oil painting and she is forever grateful to his wisdom. Erica found her medium! She loves working with oils.
Recently, Erica was able to enter into an online masters program with Academy of Art San Francisco. It has been a wonderful experience and has enabled Erica to grow as an artist. Painting still life arrangements allow her to work from life, which is a true pleasure. Erica also paints portraits, pet portraits, plein aire and loves to draw. Art is her life and she loves to share her work with others.
