Mary Ann Testagrossa

Picture
Drawing and painting from an early age, Mary Ann has been an artist for as long as she can remember. Born and raised in New York City, she began her formal art education in high school before continuing her studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She later made the Pacific Northwest her home, where she built a diverse and rewarding career in the arts.

Throughout her early career, Mary Ann explored many facets of the art world, working as a graphic artist, sign painter, and professional framer, while also managing an art gallery for more than a decade. These experiences broadened her artistic perspective and strengthened her appreciation for both the creative and business sides of the arts.
For more than twenty years, watercolor was Mary Ann's primary medium. During that time, her work was exhibited extensively in both local and national shows. Always eager to explore new creative avenues, Mary Ann then turned her attention to jewelry design, creating and selling her work through online platforms and regional art fairs.

For the last decade, Mary Ann has embraced the art of printmaking, with a particular passion for linocut printing. She is widely known for her intimate graphic portraits of black cats, inspired by her own. Her prints masterfully balance positive and negative space to capture distinct feline postures. In addition to her love of animals, Mary Ann enjoys creating images from nature: flowers, bird’s nests, redwood trees, all inspire her work.

Mary Ann regularly exhibits her linocut prints in galleries, art fairs and online. Her distinctive prints are held in private and corporate collections across the United States and internationally.
